Popular and super-talented Christian musician Pat Barrett put on a touching and lovely performance of his song “Hopes for You” live in the studio.

Situations and circumstances can get overwhelming, burdensome and unbearable. Given the amount of stress and worry one can encounter on an average day, it’s easy to see how this can be the case. Everyone has demands, requirements and obligations they must fulfill.

Sometimes, we don’t always hit the mark. People are imperfect and fallen beings. The stress and worry can become too much. People can start to think that they are all alone and no one cares. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Every person matters to God. He has a plan and a will for every human being.

Pat, with his song “Hopes for You,” sings about this situation. People can get into a dark mental place, feeling like no one cares and that they are all alone. As Pat sings, while things may appear difficult, pushing through those obstacles will only strengthen and build you. It will make you into the person God has in mind. He is faithful and will see you through those times.

“Don’t ever think you’re alone

Oh, there’s someone looking out for you

Oh, don’t settle for the easy road

There hardest things will make you grow”

Later in the song, Pat reminds us to ease up on ourselves at times. People, when they stumble and fall, tend to beat themselves up over it. Obsessing and constantly thinking about a failure will not do anybody any good.

Give yourself some grace, Pat sings. The very next line of the song mentions that we should also do the same for others. No one is perfect. All have their failures and flaws. But God will forgive if we seek His forgiveness. He is loving, faithful and merciful.

Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing and perfect will of God.”
